Greetings from Franz Josef, NA
Posted in Uncategorized on December 28th, 2008 by Ethan HAnother update on the NZ trail (with rare internet acess!). I am writing this from a Backpacker’s Hostel in Franz Josef, a popular site due to the nearby Glaciers. One of which I am going to be hiking on tommorrow. I would upload some pictures, but I have a 500 meg upload cap and really slow upload speeds. I might get some up in a little bit though. New Zealand is a great place, with impossible landscapes yanked right from the movies. Speaking of which, I climbed on rocks that were very similar to those in the Chronicle’s of Narina and it’s massive fight scene at the end of the movie. The weather is great, it’s a bit chilly up here in the mountains, but ceratinly warmer than home.
More updates to come! Maybe once I buy more internet (which is 3 bucks an hour).
Cheers

Posted in Uncategorized on August 15th, 2008 by Ethan HDear CVS,
Thank you for telling me that I entered my credit card’s expiration date wrong. I also wanted to thank you for not letting my CHANGE the expiration date so you can take my money. Thanks again, CVS! I really wish there was a place (READ WALMART) that didn’t charge 10 bucks for send out processesing.
Thanks!
Ethan
…long day
Posted in Uncategorized on August 1st, 2008 by Ethan HIs a massive understatement. Monster.com came into Kimballs today, 2000+ people from 5-10. PLUS there was still public to deal with. Seriously, the line for mini golf went to the bridge until around 9:15 then it died down. Parking was a mess, it was crazy. We had no breaks, we were all running around. The rides were cut down to 4 minutes because of alll the people we had there.
It was NUTS!
and I reallly want a 5D…..but I have nowhere near enough money :/

I’ve been thinking
Posted in Uncategorized on July 26th, 2008 by Ethan HI’ve been shooting digital for a while now, and I have had my XTi for some time and I am quite satisfied with it. But I want to try film again, and using my own lenses. So it got me thinking, I want to purchase a film SLR for myself. I have heard iffy things about the Canon Rebel series, but very good things about the Canon EOS Elan series, especially the Elan 7. On KEH Camera, I can find one for 140 like new and it is compatible with my lenses (though I probably don’t want to put the 10-20mm on it or I will have some serious vignetting). But before I take the plunge, I want some advice. Those of you who have shot film SLRs before, what do you think about the EOS Elan 7? From what I have read, it is a great camera for someone like me, not a complete n00b, but defiantly not a pro
http://www.ethanhansenphoto.com/film_portfolio/ is some of the examples from my film foray, all taken with a Canon A-1 with 50 1.4 or 28mm 1.8
